The PODCAST KIT is a comprehensive workshop for anyone looking to host, produce, and launch a podcast.

This 8-module how-to-podcast workshop is designed to answer every question about podcasting in one place, allowing you to make a show without any experience.

If podcasting feels overwhelming & you’re unsure where to start, this could be for you.

In 2012, I had an idea to start a podcast. I studied broadcast journalism, but I was overwhelmed by the logistics and technology. Without a clue how to reach out to guests, which microphone to use, or how an episode would appear on iTunes…
I began interviewing people, then figured out the details.

Now, over 400 episodes later, I’ve spoken to guests I never could’ve expected, I’ve recorded live episodes with an audience, and perhaps most rewarding of all, helped others begin shows.

I now host and produce two shows and on my first show has reached 5 million downloads. I’ve consulted with individuals and brands sharing what I learned about the medium. I’ve compiled all of that information into this kit.

It is a support system to connect with other beginners, plus the insights of the dozens of other podcasters I interviewed exclusively for this.

It guides you step-by-step from idea to technology to marketing to monetizing…and beyond…

THE PODCAST KIT

is more than just information, it is also community for people creating podcasts to connect and collaborate.

Starting a new project can be lonely and the group aspect is here to help you keep going when the project gets overwhelming.

In addition to the group…

By the end of this workshop, you'll have the tools to:

  1. Launch your podcast on major podcast platforms.

  2. Create a community around shared interests.

  3. Book guests. Connect and collaborate with people who inspire you.

  4. Feel comfortable interviewing both in-person and remotely.

  5. Feel cozy with the technology and equipment you need to get started. (What to invest in, what to hold off on.)

  6. Produce consistent episodes on a schedule that you can maintain within your life.

  7. Strategically grow a listenership at a steady, honest, organic rate.

  8. Use your podcast as a tool to share and elevate your creative project or work.

  9. Understand and implement strategies to financially support your podcast.

Countless people have podcast ideas, but relatively few follow through. This course has a 98% completion rate, meaning 98 percent of students actually upload podcast feeds to iTunes.

I believe this is because in addition to giving you the resources, tools, and support, the workshop also includes the deadline of a contest.

Twice a year, we choose one podcast to air on our Let It Out feed which has over 4 million total downloads.

It is not too late to begin…

It is still the wild west of podcasting and I believe there’s no harm in creating something that delights you to make and connects you with other people.

If you’d like to join, absolutely no pressure but here is the link to do so and email me if you have any questions about it at katie@letitouttt.com

What do you actually get out of this How-to-Podcast workshop

  1. Over 100 hours of interviews with top podcasters like Jessica Murnane of One Part Podcast and Christy Harrison of Food Psych and many more.

  2. Comprehensive audio lectures from me, Katie Dalebout of Let It Out Podcast, and co-host and producer of Spiraling with Serena Wolf. These include coming up with a concept and idea, voice development, everything I’ve learned about the art of interviewing, guest outreach, show marketing, and monetization.

  3. Resources including email templates, guest tracking excel spreadsheets, sample scripts and more.

  4. Accountability: At-your-own-pace homework to keep organized and on track to launch.

  5. A deadline. This course includes an incentive to utilize the information you’ve learned. Each student has the opportunity to participate in a contest where one winner per semester will have their episode featured on the Let It Out Podcast feed and be interviewed by me.

It is not just me; I interviewed dozens of other podcasters exclusively for this. You get their advice, process, and perspective in addition to mine.

In addition to the podcast host interviews, I also spoke to an audio engineer & a vocal coach.
